I have rescued a possible Griffon who could be a German Wirehair, and adopted a WPG who looks like a German wire haired pointer. Anyway my point is unless people are specifically interested in certain hunting traites why not look on the german wire hair pointing rescue, they have a number of fantastic dogs, needing homes.
