Hi to all the crew members. Just thought I would share the following email with you. Its from a sub sailor stationed aboard the USS Jimmy Carter.
All the best.
Garry
Ahoy there, and greetings! Hopefully you still are active with this email. I am Culinary Specialist 1st Class (SS) Charles Thompson, and also the grandson of a former shipmate aboard the USS TRITON. He has recently joined eternal patrol with many of his other shipmates, and I have had the privilege of taking care of some of his effects. I was wondering if there would be any problem with me trying to donate some of the things he left for me to the Submarine Museum or Submarine Veterans. I am not looking for money or anything, I just don't know if there may be some one who would have an objection to the donation. I am currently serving aboard the USS JIMMY CARTER SSN 23 and will be out of pocket for a little while. If there is anyone who can let me know more about my Grandfather, or anyone with objections to donations, I can be reached at thompsoncr@carter.navy.mil .Hopefully this email does not sound silly, but there is an enormous amount of really cool history I would like to share. Feel free to pass this email to anyone you think may be interested. I will close this with the one quip my G-Pa taught me when I was still old enough to taste soap. "We go up, we go down"..... you know the rest.
Very Respectfully,
CS1(SS) Charles Thompson III
United States Navy
