Posted by Mike McCoy I just caught up on the Message Board after quite a few months and it was sad news to hear about the death of Chief Keith McCall. Big Mac made quite an impression on my young life aboad the Triton. He was a tough old guy then, but had a real knack for leadership, teaching and making sure that we took our jobs seriously. My most vivid memory of Mac was in Holy Loch. We came back to the boat early in the morning after a real boozy liberty in Edinburg. After muster, I crawled back in my bunk if the ATR. It wasn't long before Mac came back, grabbed me out of the bunk and onto the deck, and said "if you're going to play like a sailor at night, you better act like one the next day". I have often paraphrased that saying in certain situations. And, I'll always fondly remember looking up at Big Mac and found my way back to ER1. Peggy, it was great to see Keith at the reunions and share a few sea stories. My best wishes to you. Regards, Mike McCoy
