Alan Acton on your eternal patrol list was my grandfather. My father was not close to his dad and I only met him a few times. My parents were divorced and I am now l7 years old. I know my grandfather was on this sub but not much else about him. If any of you remember him and can give me some information I would really appreciate it. I am a Naval JROTC cadet at Sullivan North High School in Kingsport Tennessee and am an upcoming junior in school. I am interested in going to the Naval Academy to play football when I graduate. I have recently returned to Norfolk for a change of Command Ceremony on the U.S.S. Shreveport. I was born in Virginia Beach. I know my grandfather was stationed in Groton at one time and I dont even have my grandmothers name. So if any of you were a shipmate and can shed some light on his life I would appreciate an email. I would also like to have the dates he was on the triton, evidently he wasnt on it when it sank.Thanks Jared Alan Acton
