Sad to here of the passing of Chief MacGregor. Although working as a "nuke" he was a friend and mentor to this new non-qual FT coming aboard in July 1962 to replace Max Rose (also deceased). One story: After many hours chasing an intermittent problem on the Mk 101, I consulted with Chief MacGregor - an excellent sounding board. He said I was too close to the problem, and to hit the beach and tie a good one on. I did and found the problem within a few hours (and lots of coffee) the next morning.
