When I was much, much younger, he fascinated me with tales of the historic voyage and other adventures. Unfortunately, he died when I was just 15. Now, I am a reporter in Norfolk, where, as all of you know, the ship spent some time. I am considering covering the upcoming reunion, both as a news story and as a chance to connect with the piece of my father's life that actually brought me to the place where I am now raising a family.
