I was fortunate to have been assigned to the Thresher in Portsmouth N.H. Got to know quite a few of men on her. Was equally fortunate to be transferred to USS Hard Head prior to the Thresher taking it's final cruise. Was only on a short time, but it was an experience being in the shipyard during construction.
