Bunch I am writing this to tel you I visited The fine Ship Triton today @ PSNS to do my Final reenlistment Along with my friend Senior Chief Torpedomans Mate Wesely Tallant. I Did my ceromony in the Conning tower just forward of #1 periscope and Wes did his in the stern torpedoroom between Tubes 5 and 6 The ship is in outstanding shape in the 3 hours we were looking around we were amazed at what we saw most everything is still there there are parts still in the supply lockers most of the equipment is still in place and intact the shore power is modified to use the ships liting so it looked like a ghost ship and the just walked away. There are still danger tags hanging from 1968 on switches. We rapidly identified that the ship was built right and I would go to sea on her tomorow if asked. Having served on SSN 637,688,726,and been underway on SSN23 I am jelous of what you folks had for living arrangements The goat locker is huge and so are the mess decks and the racks were BIG. I am also sad to say that she is scheduled to be dismantled this year. It is a tragidy to me that She is going to be scrapped. As the Triton sits is better shape than most submarine museiums I have been to I wish some would save this piece of history. I just thought you would like to know FTC/SS Dan Bunch
