I am stretching my memory on this, but I on the S3G prototype and Triton was S4G. Post Navy, I worked in the commercial nuclear industry. Typically, General Electric made a boiling water reactor for commercial use, but S3G and S4G were pressurized water reactors. I only served on one nuclear submarine, Triton and I believe the Reactor Compartment differed from most nukes because we walked across the "top hat" over the reactor, where others walked through a "tunnel". Perhaps someone who served on multiple nukes could lend a hand on this one. Have you tried answering your queston by contacting GE?
