I saw Jonathan at Star Trek Fan Days in Plano last weekend and asked him about Genie. He didn't give any details, but he said she was returning to GH, making a third "Note" movie, and mentioned something about working on a tv series with a cable network (I think he said TBS but I'm not 100% sure).
I know that's kinda vague, but I thought I would share!
