Don't feel bad about this, as the 'grunge explosion' happened around fourteen years ago- but DO be aware of it. From reading your own description I wouldn't bother to see this band, and that's really bad because you might just make some fantastic and innovative music. Don't advertise for people to form a 'grunge metal' band. You missed the boat- get over it and move forward.

What the hell is this!?! Could you make your intent any more obvious? Why would you want to form a band you've already pigeonholed? For the SAKE OF YOUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN, please rethink your approach to this. If you're gonna form a group, why not advertise for the musicians you seek without telling them that the band is gonna be a second/ tenth rate shadow of a collection of bands who existed and made better music in this outdated style over a decade ago. Unless you are forming a tribute band/cabaret act with the intentions of making a living out of playing well payed shows to packed working men's clubs and night clubs specialising in middle of the road live entertainment, I'd recommend you get a group together with the intention of exploring sound and musical development without such a predetermined outcome.
Re:"...influenced by Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana, etc." The "etc." is more apt than you think. I am a fan of both these bands, but come on! For the purpose of this advertisement they are one in the same. How could anyone into grunge metal not be into these two groups? This is hardly an enticing offer to your prospective musicians. You MUST broaden your horizons for your vision of this musical project, or I suspect you will disappoint yourself most of all.
Also on a more pedantic note, commitment has three m's in it, and is a must, but not to this type of group. Good luck.
