Ok, I thought we would get to this lot a little later, rather than sooner, but I can deal with it so here goes...
Tsuji Giri write some good songs. Tsuji Giri are pretty good players of music. Tsuji Giri have been known on several occasions to be a pretty good live band. And Tsuji Giri are Crap and here's why: Pomposity in music doesn't go a long way, and this band have loads of it- even listening to some of their better songs, you can't help but feel sometimes that they're trying to baffle you with musical dexterity appiled to a sound (rock music and elements of punk rock ethics) which doesn't want, nor recognises these traits as good things. It all sounds a bit smug to me- there is also clearly an ongoing battle for 'who's got the most interesting part to play in this song' , between the band members- And what happens because of this when they play live? SOUND= MUSH. A lack of focus on the overall sound of a track leads only to confusion- and I'm not criticising complex music here- it's just that there is a right and a wrong way in which to apply your ideas, and Tsuji Giri have got it all wrong. Therefore Tsuji Giri are Crap. Next....
(by the way, this is not a valid argument, but as I have a little in the way of insider information on this band, I think it's something to consider when listening to them; They're a bunch of arseholes, period... sorry, I flirt with the Crap rules there, but I feel it necessary. )
