EARLY ONE ST. PATRICK'S DAY by Gene Minix Down by the wee stream In an old hollow tree Lived a little leprechaun Just as clever as could be. His ears were pointed. He wore a coat of green. Had turned up little shoes And hardly ever was seen. But early one St. Patrick's Day I just happened to see. That wee little man There by the old oak tree. He looked at me with a grin. On his fiddle played a song. Then in a moment The wee little man was gone. Now you don't believe me. And you're giving me that stare. Well, just because you haven't seen one Doesn't mean that he's not there. If one truly believes On St. Patrick's Day they just might see. PATRICK by Gene Minix St. Patrick was a missionary to Ireland. It was many and many long years ago. He baptized many for the Lord And all around let his Christianity show. He used the green shamrock To illustrate the Three in One. And legend tells of many Special wonders that he done. They say he drove out the snakes And in Ireland left none to see. And anyone that drives away snakes Is just all right with me. © Copyright 2012, by Gene Minix. All rights reserved. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY TO ALL, MAY GOD BLESS. |
