IF TOMORROW WAS NOT TO BE by Gene Minix If tomorrow was not to be And today was your last day. What would you do, where would you go? What are the words that you would say? Would you spend more time With your children tonight? Would you kneel with them by bedside? Would you kiss and tuck them in tight? And what of your spouse As he walks out the door. If he should not return again Would you run and kiss him once more? And husbands would you rush off To work at break of day. And not a hug and kiss, Not a kind word to your wife say ? If tomorrow never comes And there are words left unsaid today, They will haunt you, my friend. Don't let them slip away. You don't know there will be a tomorrow. You are not promised another day. Reach out to those you love And don't let time slip away. Tomorrow isn't promised To children or adults alike. Don't leave words unspoken or deeds undone. Hold the ones you love and hold them tight. © Copyright 2010, by Gene Minix in WESTERN WINDS. All rights reserved. |
