Does anyone know anything about my grandfather, Emery Leo Barnette? He was born in Jackson County on Dec. 3, 1896, the son of Joseph Thomas Barnette & Dora Louvenia McElhannon, and the brother of Walter Thomas Barnette.
Leo married Rheida Eberhardt of Greensboro and they had one child, my father, Bryan Leo Barnett(e), born Dec. 1, 1918 in Nicholson. Census records show that Leo lived with Dora's parents, Frank and Sarah E. McElhannon in Jackson County in 1900 and 1910, and there is a record of his WWI draft registration from June 1918. After that, nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
