Frederick Crowder was an Elder in the Primitive Baptist Church. He is first listed in Van's Church as a member with Dozier Thornton in 1806/7 in Elbert County. Then he and others were allowed to form their own church closer to where they lived. He is listed as the person who performed several marriages in Elbert County. In 1805, one of the Fredericks was allowed to draw in the land lottery of that year. There were two, father and son. Usually, the son is listed as Frederick L., and later research shows the son was born ca 1790, so it is probable that this drawer was the father. When the father died, he lists a daughter as Mary Berry. He had other sons James H., and Samuel. His son Samuel is listed as eldest in the will in Monroe County, GA, signed March 22nd, 1827, but not filed until February 2d, 1829. I have family for the daughter Rebecca who married Abel White, and have found information on Frederick L. Now I'd like very much to find families for Samuel, James and Mary who married a Berry. If you are a descendant, I'd love to exchange family information.
