A friend of mine owns property on the Lexington Highway in Elberton, GA. Just a few yards off the highway is a single grave stone for Samuel J. Crawford with the inscription "AT REST" and the dates: January 9, 1886-July 10, 1966. The Social Security Death Index shows that his last residence was in Lincoln, NC. Is this really a grave site? The remains of some plastic flowers are at the granite marker.
Please let me know if you have any information.
