Seek info on the Jesse Simmons listed on the 1820 census of Gwinnett Co., in the area formerly part of Jackson Co. He's probably the Jesse Simmons who entered the 1805 Land Lottery from Jackson Co.
I have evidence but not full proof he was b. in NC in 1776, was in Henry Co. in 1830 and later migrated to the Broomtown Valley of Chattooga Co., where he died sometime after 1850.
