Posted by Mike Tomme He fought in Revolutionary War with the Delaware Regiment and then came south after the Battle of Camden. He was with the militia at the end of the war. He died in 1838 in Wilkes Co. I hope someone can help locate this grave as this is my 8th generation grandfather. Thank you.

I am looking for grave of Purnal TRUITT. He married Mary GODFREY (1st wife) and she died. Second wife was Rachel RENDER. I found information that he was buried in the Old Truitt Cemetery on Scull Shoals Road, 7 miles from Washington, Wilkes Co., GA. The grave was marked by the DAR and SAR. The other information states he was buried on the place owned by Henry R. Brown and that old house was still standing, and made of hewn logs on the place owned by P. D. Hardin and this is dated 8/1927. His grave was marked with a U. S. Government head stone. The two DAR chapters that marked this were Barnard Trail and Noble Wimberly Jones.
