hi all, its been a while since i've written here, but i've got another quandry for you.
i am thinking about doing a piece and framing it, but my question is: does anyone have any ideas about outdoor proofing it so that it can hang outside on a covered porch? it would only be during the summer (or nice) months and since its under a porch, it would be away from any direct water/rain.
it would be framed in the usual stretching-over-foamcore-board and under glass in the frame. one idea i had would be to seal the glass on the inside of the frame with a silicone sealer. basicall so that the glass is sealed to the frame and thus no water can get inside. then i'd do the same with the back using the silicone sealer to attatch a piece of plastic over the back of the frame instead of the standard brown packing paper. with this idea, in theory, all openings leading to the finished piece would be sealed off from air and water.
what does everyone think? any other ideas that might help me out?
i appreciate any suggestions!
