I'm not a huge sports fan but I do like college football. I was watching a football game this past weekend and saw something that disturbed me. It was a very close game and came down to one of those moments where if one team could score on the last play of the game they would win. As the camera panned the crowd of spectators it stopped on a woman who was obviously praying very hard for her team to win.
I found it to be offensive because I don't believe God really cares about the outcome of sporting events and that prayer is too holy to be trivialized with such matters.
However, immediately after having those thoughts I felt guilty and judgemental. Who am I to say what somone can pray for? Please share your thoughts with me. I obviously need guidance or I wouldn't be having these feelings.
