Posted by Michael C. on 3/22/2002, 8:57 pm Something about her looked familiar, I could swear I've seen her face before...... I'm not certain, but I think the song was called "Taxi". And I am also not certain if the beginning lines I recite above are exactly right.....but there was a time when I knew every word from every verse, exactly as Harry Chapin had recorded it. No, it wasn't one of my favorite songs (though I didn't dislike it) as I was much more into The Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin, Traffic, Pink Floyd, The Stones, and later Lynrd Skynrd, The Outlaws, ELO, REO Speedwagon, The Cars, Def leppord etc. etc. etc. etc (RocknRoll).......But one summer on vacation from college I worked boring nights as a Janitor for a big office complex. And while vacuming so many offices, and with the noise of the vacume cleaner to drown out my off key screaming, I would pass the tedious hours by singing each verse of that long song over and over again at the top of my lungs (Lord help me if anyone heard me over the Vacume Thanks for the compliment Karen. I can't wait to see your continuation of the lovely Salem 100 lady, Valient V, and the shy boy in the background
I needed one more fare to make my night. Then a lady up ahead flagged me down, she got in at the light.
