Is it a coincidence ?? I have been searching for my Dads family for a long time now and have continually been directed to your website...I don`t really see the connection, but as I went on today I thought sometimes we can`t see the woods for the trees...and so maybe I`ll be lucky this time, and someone will see more than I, considering I don`t really know that much...what I know is my Dads name was Peter McDonald Forbes and he was born 1920 in Edinburgh, Scotland...according to his birth record his Mothers name was Isabella Hogg Hume [ previously Martin ] she had been married before to David Henderson Martin, who was deceased during the WW1 conflict in 1918..she then married my Grandfather also Peter McDonald Forbes in 1919 and my Dad was born the following year...according to the marriage record my paternal Grandfathers name was Peter, married Isabella in Dundee in Scotland and her fathers name was David Hume and mother Jane M.S. Bridges...his fathers name was James Forbes and his Mothers name was Mary M.S.GANNON...I hope someone can help as I have really tried without success and my Dad lived his whole life with a shame of never having a family with a Mum and Dad, siblings or cousins, aunts or uncles and the special bond which exists with having Grandparents..I have traced his mother Isabella..she passed in 1962, only ten years before my Dad...to think his Mum lived less than a 1 hour drive from our house and only passed ten years before him is very sad...hope we will solve the mystery as to why a father could give his child his full name and then place him in care I suppose we will never know, but I have to keep trying for my Dad to whom I will love and miss forever...best regards to you all and thanks for giving me the chance to post on your website...Evelyn
