Just for info purposes, Esquerita played quite a few times in a place called Signorelli's in St. Martinville, Louisiana during the early 1960's. He was a hit but was the weirdest person any of us college kids had ever seen. We would come over from USL (now the Univ of La at Lafayette), pay the cover charge and dance to him and a lot of the swamp pop bands. Totally unable to forget him playing Green Door. I even had a .45 of it at one time. Somehow he just did not make the big time but was one to remember.
