Hello,
I am just finishing up a BFA photography degree and trying to get started in the horse photography business. I have shown and owned quarterhorses all my life and want to specialize in the reining/working cowhorse shows and ranches. I prefer to shoot medium format, there is nothing like that huge negative to work from! I am considering a Mamiya RZ 67, but am unsure if the 1/500 maximum shutter speed is going to be enough. Also, is having AF a big deal for action shots? I know that a 200 or 400mm lens will probably be the focal length I'll need, but does anyone have some suggestions for medium format gear? I'm not opposed to 35mm system, but want high quality images for magazine reproductions, posters, etc. It is a big investment and I want to make sure I get it right the first time around! Thanks!
