I've been shooting mainly editorial with it since August but have recently been hired to do equine by a horse mag. You'll see some embarrassingly silly questions from me in other places but it's OK 'cuz I left my ego at my last job.
D100 is a wonderful little unit. The paper I work for (as a freelance writer and shooter) has D-1's but mine does all they do plus has a bigger and one generation newer CCD. It really does use just about every lens...I have an old 55mm F 1.2 that works quite well, a huge plus.
It's fast enough for sports, and I like the smaller size.
It's got some flimsy parts, and Nikon software is Bin Laden's next gift to us, but it's light and fast. I'd get two if I could $ it.
If you take the plunge, two things: 1) be aware that the best prices (right now, below about $1,700) are probably gray market and may not be warrantied, and 2) get the SB 80 DX strobe since the 50's too small.
