I have researched 35mm SLR cameras for several months now, and I am pretty sure I want to get a Canon. I have found that the Canon Rebel 2000 and Canon Elan 7 are within my general price range, and have good options. Does anyone know what the advantages are to getting the Elan 7 vs. the Rebel? I showed it to my photography instructor and she said she didn't see a major difference. Also, any suggestions on affordable lenses, either from Canon or a Sigma lens, that provides really good picture quality? Any other suggestions on equipment selection is greatly appreciated!
