Most 1 hour photos will only have 2 types of paper - Glossy or Matte and thats it...where I work uses Fujicolor Crystal Archive which is quite good - but it's up to where you go. 
Also, be very very very nice to the manager. Quite often, I'll have people be snippy with me about wanting good quality - and to be honest, it's not a huge incentive for wanting to give them good quality!
