Each breed has different preferences for posing the horse. They are VERY particular about it. You won't sell a photo of a Saddlebred that is posed like a Quarter Horse. Buy some copies of the top horse magazines featuring the breeds/disciplines you are interested in, and study them to see what is most desirable. Knowledge of horse conformation (anatomical structure) is also essential for really good photos. Whatever you do, don't just "shoot and pray"; educate yourself.
