Posted by Lori Schmidt Shooting jumping is as much instinct as anything else, you almost have to shoot before you see the shot if you know what I mean. If you only push the shutter when you "see" the correct moment, you will be too late. Practice, once you get the formula that works for you i.e. once you identify the thing that triggers the shot, it will work most times. Remember the smaller the jump the more difficult it is to get the shot right coz they are up and over the small jumps much quicker than the larger jumps. A jump with a spread is always a good jump to choose. Dont shoot with too wide an angle lens, I normally stick to about 120mm or longer, this gives a better perspective and keeps everything in nice proportion. Hope this helps.
