Hello leslie: I both use a digital and film ( 35mm canon rebel) and i find that depending on the time of day will indicated what you are looking for in lighting. Between 2 and 3 pm will give you the best lighting. If at all posiable if you set your horse up on a slight angle so you are not hit it directly head on it will give you a 3 dimemal look. Alot of the tricks are just by trial and error. good luck
