Yep, Sue, we are about in the same boat with the Type II diabetes and Insulin resistance. i have been going through diet and supplement info all week, too. i started cutting portion sizes down even more last month (i can sympathize on the doggi ebag, my husband makes fun of me for it), and the past few weeks have been trying to make my carbs count, increase fluids (water mostly) and add some much needed protien and so far, its not too bad. i dont have a pound estimate of what i have lost, but i can fit back into my older jeans, which is nice, esp with summer approaching, and am already getting a more defined waist! something else i started doing, that i think has helped, was to try to stay away from pre-packaged and more processed things more lately; i tend to get more out of what i eat when i do that, and i'm enjoying it more. *omg* i don't crave sweets like i had been and its wonderful! at most i pop a few m&ms after dinner, if then. i'm really excited about my dr's apt, i want to see if my weight has changed any; even if it hasnt i will be ok with it, but it would be nice. i have tried to start taking more walks lately as well as doing some pilates type exercises on a physiotherapy ball and on my own. i was really surprised at how well it can work out with one (pardon the pun).
