Posted by Sandy I have learned to tell the difference in good fats and bad fats and how much of each is in what I eat by reading the labels, how much carbs, ect I need for my age, body type and activity levels (this includes the type of job you have....for me it's a desk job). Also, I am more aware of how many calories I need to maintain my proper weight for my age and activity levels and I eat only that many calories per day. This has resulted in a loss of 3 pounds the first week. Not a lot but, a good start. I am having my "cycle" this week and I normally gain 3-5 pounds during this time of month (water retention mostly) and this time I have only gained a half pound!! Lets salts and stuff this time...and with this new plan I did not crave the things I normally would right before my cycle. I am sure that has helped too since I normally crave salty, fatty foods the week before my cycle. I think the fact that my diet is better balanced has helped in this area. I am also taking a multivitamin everday, walking in the park on my lunch break at least three times a week and still walking the dog. It really helps that I do not exclude anything from my diet, I just moderate how much I eat of certain high fat/calorie foods. I will update you all in a few weeks and let you know how this is going. Hugs and congrats to all of you who have been able to lose weight since we started this. Sandy

Ok, the news is not very good. I did not do well on the last attempt but, I got a book called "Free to be Thin" and it has really helped me.
This is where the news gets better. It's a Christian based book and it not only teaches you to rely on God for your strength but also helps you to determine your body type and how/what you should eat for your body type. Basically, we are all different and need different foods. Sounds too simple to work but, it does.
