There will NOT be an EIHL season this fall. The EIHL may return sometime in the future, hopefully in Spring of 2016. As of now, we will not be having a season. Due to time constraints of life, I don’t have the time to organize, watch over and run this wonderful league this season.
I have personally been responsible for running this league for over 23 years. It has been a truly magical experience that will be missed, but hopefully with a little luck we will be back-up and running soon. The EIHL is responsible for so many good things, most importantly the friendships it has allowed to form. Sundays were always the day that you knew you would meet up with the guys for some competition and beers. A nice Sunday afternoon of hockey and cold ones was better than anything the week could offer.
Sadly, there has been a shift in people’s attitudes, thinking and general respect towards the game. Thus making it easier for me to walk away. In terms of the EIHL, there has been way too much politicking and backstabbing than one can stand for. Don’t get me wrong, the EIHL was never a picnic, but lately it has changed. You guys will do things to win that go beyond competitiveness, it’s sad. That can been clearly seen in how the last EIHL party was. In what was supposed to be one of the biggest celebrations of the year, turns into something that could not even match the week 1 post game party. That is just one instance, but there have been a few the last few seasons. Some people lately have come out and literally try to hurt or harm each other, that’s not something I signed up for. Then there are those that don’t care, they show up to their games and go, they are part-timers, they pussy out when the going gets rough. They miss games because they have other so called commitments. People get married and they lose their balls. People have kids and they lose their balls and dick. Men aren’t what they used to be.
One other thing I would like to address is the name of Sarabha and County Court and some issues that come to my attention. I have heard many rumblings that the kids in County Court are anti-Sarabha and disassociate themselves from the name etc. I would like to remind these motherf#ckers that Sarabha and County Court are synonymous. No one has exclusive rights or authority over County Court, it’s an area. I know, we are not gangsters and this is very childish. But something has to be said. The reason we have respect, or are known to be county court guys is because we are sarabha guys too. You guys were taking shits in your diapers when we were doing our thing and creating our name. (by that I mean shit you pussies have never done, nor will ever do) Looking back at that time, I’m not particularly proud of what we did, but we did it. From the seniors to our juniors we did it. I’m only referring to a handful of guys in county court, you guys don’t deserve to call yourselves that, and you have no idea what it means. Ask the men that still live there and they will tell you. And if you f#cking punk mother f#ckers have anything to say to me, I’m here, you know where to find me.
I would also like to address, ball hockey elitism. We have had a lot of good players come through this league. High level players, who played some of the highest level of ball hockey in the world. I’ll ask you what did that get you? See the difference between the EIHL and these other leagues it that this place is where friendships are forged. Those other teams, leagues are where you get your ego (or lun) stroked. Here we have created lifelong friendships, not fake ones that you see there. We have had many guys that play here, and could have played anywhere. And we had other guys that left to play high level ball hockey because it’s so important in the grand scheme of things. Then we have these ball hockey groupies that pop boners when they see so called high level players – you know who you are.
If your find this post to be offensive, I really don’t care.
I would also like to thank all the many dedicated players, captains that have helped keep this league going. These are the true EIHL’er that live for every Sunday. There are many I would like to thank and acknowledge, but a few stand out. Rinku, Gogs, Poon, Mav, Sunny Rai, Big P and Obi, I know I’m missing a few. But these guys have helped a lot, moved things forward and know what I’m talking about. It’s that special Sunday morning feeling when you pull into the parking lot and take those steps up that small hill.
One thing I was most proud of running this league is that it allowed people from various walks of life to become friends. If it were not for the EIHL would any of you know each other? Would you guys know Sunny Rai? Would Sarpreet, Obi and Big P be so tight? The EIHL helped usher in people from Mississauga, Rexdale, Humberwood and various parts of Brampton. Would you ever be boys with someone from Rexdale? I remember when we brought them into the league, there was chaos, and people wanted my head because I called for equality in how we treat our Rexdale/Humberwood counterparts. Now these same punks love them, funny how things change. I have seen many unlikely partnerships; friends and alliances form over the course of 23 years. Look at your contact list and ask yourself, if the EIHL wasn’t around would I even know this guy? I think this is the greatest achievement of the EIHL, and the one I am most proud of.
