Cayce's readings describe all animal life as being connected through a single group soul. The idea that animals can empathically absorb our illnesses is certainly possible for all life made up of energy and vibration. So in a similar way to how we tune a piano, we can choose to be in harmony or in discord with other people and "things" at any time.
My own belief is that the animal group soul is much like Cayce described angels. They have free will, but only to make choices in accord with God's loving ways. It is only souls like us that have the free will to choose against the will of our Father.
Was there a specific question you had on Cayce or his readings on animals?
