Actually, Cayce had two incarnations under the name of Bainbridge. Neither of them were particularly spiritual, and the Edgar Cayce incarnation came right after the second Bainbridge lifetime. Oddly enough, as "non-spiritual" as the Bainbridge lifetimes were, Cayce's own readings said he was advanced enough spiritually that he was not required to come back to earth as Edgar. Either that means the Bainbridge incarnation(s) were not as bad as they seemed, or he learned some great lessons during those lifetimes that released him from being tied to the earth.
