Posted by Erica Hidvegi I have found that developing a psychic ability is not possible unless you believe these elements of another dimension truly exist and exist in this dimension usually defined by having only two--up and down, side to side, but not outside of (the box). One cannot develop what they do not understand. Therefore I suggest just letting your other dimesion 'self' guide you in this ego-denied quest: your dreams might hold some specific keys to unlock the door of resisting power in clairvoyance, astral projection, telepathy, telekinesis and the many other psychic abilities evident. I apologize for not remembering all types of 'mind-over-matter' theories that I learned while earning my master's degree in Transpersonal Studies at Atlantic University. The way I felt my 'already-existent' ability of psychic influence was brought on by meditating. It might have had alot to do with the fact I was sitting on the Labyrinth in front of the A.R.E. building, but meditation in itself, wherever performed, is a powerful door-opener ! Now what I do remember about Edgar Cayce was that he insisted there was no drugs used to put him in the trance state nor was there some 'evil, demonic OR divine intervention' incorporated during the 'time-outs'. His stenographer, Gertrude, verified this with each reading she transcribed as it happened including his before, during and after behavior and attitude. In knowing that I feel the ability is housed deep within the internal wiring of our body system. It requires the use of higher intellectual thinking skills and demands trust in that these (if having more than one ability) are gifts not curses. Hello Rachel, it is never too late to find the resources to tap into the psychic ability we all posess. Each person is different, each degree of the ability is different, there are many actual confirmed abilities out there however, not every person carries the ability to accept having a 'psychic ability' if there religious, social or psychological influences have conditioned them to resist such 'nonsense'.
