Tsuki no Hikari started to shake his head, but the hatchling gave another bell-like call and the fox's large ears twitched. "I know. I'll call her Bell."
He looked up as the unfamiliar young dragon arrived, listened attentively to the news concerning the war.
"That's right. We're allied to the attacker, so no one has a good reason to come mess with us here," he assured, then nudged Bell gently with his nuzzle, coaxing her to crawl off of his tail towards Bo'sun. The fox stood then, shaking the shattered egg shell shards off of his tails and giving the fur a few licks to clean it. "Speaking of which, I have to go now. Please look after Bell for me, and you can play with her as long as you don't hurt her. I'll be back as soon as I can."
Worried about being so late, he decided to try out a blessing he'd recently acquired. After a moment of concentration, a pair of small, silver-feathered wings burst forth from just behind his shoulder blades. A little awkward at first, but catching on very quickly, he leaped into the sky and flew away to join his alpha in the battle.
