The two-tailed fox nodded gratefully, but took a moment longer to decide. "All right... I believe I will stay here until it hatches. I'd hate for it to be born without me there. Once it's settled in, I shall leave it in your care and go help our alpha." He sighed in heartfelt relief. "I don't even know your name, but that you so much. This means a lot to me." Settling into a more comfortable position - that being curled up around the egg - the unusually protective fox tucked his muzzle under the top tail so that the tip of his sensitive nose barely touched the shell of the egg that was kept secure in its furry cradle of sorts. If he kept still and quiet, he would be able to sense any definable movement and be ready when it began to hatch, though he had no idea how long he'd have to wait.
