The collie had actually shown true interest when Mykota spoke of fighting in a war with Tazendre, but before he could question her about it, the alpha returned.
Standing alertly, Lestat gave a showy bow to the fox before speaking, "I have come as a messenger, Lady Bandido, from Tazendre the Thorn, as I informed your ghostly dragon here."
He raised his head then, meeting her eyes directly as he spoke his true reason for being here. "My ally, Tazendre, has told me of an alliance you once had with him. Unfortunately, he could not be here himself. As his representative, I have come to ask you this; will you revive that old alliance and aid us in our cause? We could use such a fine fighter as yourself, not to mention the rest of your pack."
