Atually, he was NOT the best candidate available but he was the one the "bobs" wanted and they campaigned for him with the IHL and were not the slightest embarassed by their own brazenness. IHL had alreaddy upped the salaries of the other schools presidents and did not do ours just in a way to insult us and our president then.
