Posted by aldebaran on 10/18/2002, 5:56 pm I agree that the Republicans do not always uphold the vitues of conservatism. Yet are they not a heck a lot better than Democrats?. Repubicans will usally attempt to seat judges who will generally attempt to up uphold the integrity of the constitution. Robert Bork, Antonia Scallia, Clarence Thomas, or Charles Pickering. Who do the Democrats favor? Activist such as Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who made a name for herself as a feminist activist, or the late Thurgood Marshall who of course came to light as the activist lawyer who won the Brown V. Education case.

Conservative: one of the political party that desires to preserve the institutions of the counrty against innovation; one who adheres to traditional methods or views-WEBSTER'S DICTIONARY
If you want constutional judical restraint that makes you a conservative. Repubicans ARE more conservative there.
On the moral side, a conservative takes tradtional "family values" over new world order. Which party pushes for gay rights and same sex domestic partnership benefits? Trent Lott? NO Jesse Helms? NO WAY!! Do you feel that our founding fathers favored abortion on demand? not likely! Roe V Wade was a decree invented in the late 20th century, not a part of the constitution. Roe V Wade is in violation of both moral and constitutional conservatism. Which party will look to overturn that ruling. Tom Dashle? NO! Ted Kennedy? NO Al Gore NO! Trent Lott? YES Tim Huchinson? YES Jesse Helms? YES BY turning your back on the MOST conservative party one is doing the same thing as by joining a devil cult because your local priest does not teach about Jesus enough.
For the record, how do you feel about Pat Buchanan, Charley Reese, Alen Keys, or Ross Periot? Do any of these men represent your views?
