It has to do with Bible values. You cannot really disconnect Christianity from Judiasm considering Jesus was a Jew. I doubt there are any Orthodox Jews in Congress anyway. I bet if you polled any of them asking if Yahweh parted the "Sea of Reeds" they would say it was foklore or myth and all that stuff is archaic and outdated. The real truth of the matter is that there is only one true value system. You cannot create a new value no more than you can create a new color in the rainbow. It is impossible. "Good" has been the same since the beginning of time and "evil" has remained the same. It is the knowledge or people that is faulty. This argument of course hangs on the presupposition that a God exist. If he does not, then in the paraphrased words of Dostoyevsky,"everyone can do what every they want."
