Perhaps it can be seen from a different perspective. Say that you were spending those "last five minutes" with her and even that is not really correct. A person who is about to leave this reality sometime opens up to the greater reality, the one in which there is no there, there and there but only here. As I see she and you spent those minutes together because that was what was needed, something in you needed to be with her then, to say goodbye. I hope that helps a bit.
