Nice to see SF State on the slate....

JR... I just like the fact that SF State will be in the building! Brand awareness in the city! Hoping that their student body (much greater of course) will double dip as fans and support the best team in the city!
We should be playing them every single season in an exhibition!

I 100% agree. Seems like a win-win for everyone involved. SF State gets a D1 game that is in their backyard and Dons get the chance to maybe pull in a few more fans that usual for a D2 exhibition.

Of course, I also believe that Cal/Stanford should be required to have a permanent home-and-home with all three local WCC teams...and SJSU too, I suppose.

back in the day we normally did play SF State every year - usually 30 point beatdowns. I am not certain which side wanted to stop the series.

as far as requiring the local pac (whatever number) to play the rest of this. I am not certain Stanford could be required to do so, but my tax dollars support Cal - they should be required to add local WCC teams in home and home series.

Well, I have yet to watch U.S.F. vs S.F.S.U and witness the game. Anyway, it would be nice to see exibition games against local D1 teams local teams to have a home vs home series with Cal, Stanford, SJSU, etc. Maybe, the new San Francisco Warriors Arena would help in that role by having local teams go against each other in a San Francisco Tournament. It would be nice to have 10 to 12 teams and include USF, SMC, Pacific, SCU, Cal, Stanford, SJSU, SF State, Eastbay, invite teams from another division that would draw more crowd such as Georgetown, Notre Dame, Texas, Texas Tech, Hawaii, Michigan State, Michigan, Duke, Florida State, Florida, Miami, Duke, NC State, etc. I know some of the teams are power conference teams but it would be one heck of a tournament =).

Let me be clear... Exhibition or a game that counts is cool with me!

I just think that it would help the college basketball landscape in the city for both schools! We see SF State guys in the Pro Am,etc.

Also happy to see SF State on the schedule as an exhibition. As a former Gator student in the early 80's, playing USF made no impact on attendance/awareness, etc. For the most part, SF State students were oblivious about anything USF. I'd like to think that things have changed, but my guess is that it probably hasn't.

I know some SF State alums, who are close to me in age. They followed USF in the 70s. Those teams got the attention of the entire Bay Area.
