I like Parker and think he is actually one of the better fits for this program in a long long time.. with respect to transfers and he has yet to suit up.. just got that feeling!

Also... if I have the correct gentleman picked out.. Parker's father is a true character and if you can get him to dance during a halftime... 10 times more entertaining than any kids pickup game,etc.

No steps taken back this season... the show must and will go on. It has to.. I'm going to Vegas as a sub for Strongpoint and I'm coming out a winner!

It's really tough to comment on something like this without having seen the majority of players having played a single game for USF as of yet. With that said, allow me to comment..... . The article is as close to dead on as one can get with guessing so early before the season. Only exception I would have is at center. He did not make mention of Tao Xu. I think Tao would get minutes at the center, even before Matt. In fact matt could see backup minutes at the 4 and 5. Cole being the starting 4. Also I see Parker at the 3 more than the 2. Derksen and Adams should see quite a few of the minutes at the 2. Doolin, Avry and Domo (when healthy) will man the point.

Overall USF seems to have upgraded it's talent level. The questions is, is it enough? This team is young and will need time to gel. Has USF kept up with the rest of the the league in regards to talent level. Time will tell.

I agree that it is a good article since you can't just write, "Never have seen 8 of the players on the roster, so your guess is as good as mine."

Yes, how well Parker plays is huge for USF. As is how quickly Christiansen can become a solid, rotation big.

One more huge question for USF is how good is Doolin going to be? Is he going to be the glue point guard that is hit or miss from the field? Or is he going to put up 39 minutes/28 point/5 board/5 assists/1 turnover games regularly like he did vs. SMC in Vegas?

I think he might really step up taking over the team leadership position from Rashad Green.

One thing is important in my opinion (and I never played the game). The trip to Cancun. RW has practice time for the new team without the distractions of school (since USF players do actually attend class). He can also look at different combinations when the other team is not wearing the same practice jersies turned inside out. The timing of this trip appears to be extremely fortunate.

Good call on the Mexico trip letting Walters know how this team is going to play together.

Don't think Doolin is gonna be a 20 point a game guy, but he is def the leader of this team. Kids tough. Him having a great year is probably the only certainty I have for next year.

De'End is going to be a great player. I think its going to take some time to figure out the league but he will. I'm hoping he figures it out sooner rather than later.

I really do think Dollin will be the "glue". Also, I do think Tollefsen will be more of a factor coming off the bench than most think. I do think they will be 3rd or 4th in the WCC and doing well in the WCC Tourney.

I think it's more a matter of the rest of the league figuring out De'End rather than versa. On the medium & long term I'm extremely high, ok, out'ta da roof high on Tao. But for the short term, his back will cause concern until fully healed. It wasn't just a sprain. From the tapes, he can really shoot, but that's against peeps. And footwork is always a problem for frosh 5s, but my fantasy is for Billy C to drop by once a week to clean this issue up. Rex will handle Tao correctly, & Tao WILL quickly mature into a real D1 force at 5 as well as an extremely strong recruiting magnet to build around. Shades of Bill C's time & future fab fortunes for the Dons!

in bringing up Bill C, as I recall he had back problems frosh year (that BG referred to as "growing pains"). It would be good to see if Tao and Matt C together remind us of Cartwright and Hardy together.

Let's get real. Tao may end up having a nice career with us, but he is never going to remind anyone of Bill Cartright. Bill was a highly sought after recruit. Tao was not.

Was Angelo "highly regarded"? I say no. I will agree that Cartright was a very very highly regarded recruit, and don't expect any Cartright comparisons, but he is a big Dude that looks, from video, athletic.

In the hope category: That the coaches can bring Tao along at the same development progression that Angelo achieved. Lets hope.

Lets hope we haven't lost any games yet.

Now for the Hardy part, Yikes Christinson and James Hardy. He better get in the weight room!!!!!

While only looking at videos, Tao looks to have amazing possibilities if brought along correctly. I'm not saying at this point Tao is Bill C, but let's allow this very talented 7'er to develop. It's my estimation Tao will greatly surprise those coaches who might have passed on him. I also think Tao's back injury affected those passes. As a little CYO player, I saw a similar skinny & wobbly Dons frosh decades ago, who passed under the radar of all college coaches, & Russell turned out pretty good. Go Tao & go Dons!

Either way I would rather see us going after guys with huge upside (no pun intended) than the the typical 6'3-'6'7 guys whose potential taps out at average mid-major player.

We should be trying to find players that will position us to win the league. A collection of average guys will never do that. Does it really make a difference if we finish 4th or 6th? No, it doesn't.

It has been 14 years since the last NCAA appearance. Program needs to get there within next 5 or risk becoming a complete after thought.

Honestly, the last time I saw Parker was between his junior and senior year in high school. Very good athelete...but I am curious why we and the SFE are handing him stardom in the WCC. I know nothing of his career, but did he do anything at UCLA to command this attention?
Next years WCC is not going to be a whole lot easier than the PAC 12.
A .500 record will be an outstanding caoching job this year.

He won a title with CCSF so he comes to win! Trust me... this guy is going to give us two solid seasons!
