Congrats to the Boomers

With Mills and Dellavedova as their starting backcourt, the Boomers knocked off Group B winner Russia (who was undefeated), 82-80. Mills had a rough shooting night and finished with 13 pts (he scored 39 against Great Britain). 10pts, 7 assists, 6 rebs for Dellavedova.

The Boomers have now advanced to the knockout round, finishing 4th in Group B. They will play the winners of Group A in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.

I wonder who will win Group A.....

Watched there last two previous games. Mills and Dele played well. there was a lot of talk about St.Marys' and the West Cost Confr. Missed the Russia game.

Nice effort today against the Americans, but obviously we are WAY too tough for the Aussies to overcome. I don't know the final numbers, but Mills looked great from the parts I saw. Dellavedova had some ugly turnovers in the 4th quarter (Westbrook flat picked his pocket once) and seemed a bit overwhelmed at times, but who wouldn't? He did throw a nice alley-oop in the 3rd. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Great experience for the Aussies and especially
Delly.
Mills played very well.
Team USA eventually just wore down Australia.
WAY more athletic, quicker, and just more physical.

The Aussies hung tough for 3/4 of the game.
heck, with 8 min to go, it was down to 11.

Pretty good PR for SMC and the WCC as a whole.
