Seems like we are offering a lot of players from that State. Watch out BYU. Maybe some inroads opened up there now that we play BYU once a year.

Just look up every 6'5" or under D1 prospect in the U.S., and USF has an offer out to them. But seriously folks, I would find it really interesting to learn from Walters, or another D1 Coach, how this whole process works? For example, how do you offer rides to 10 players for 2013 when your roster is full? What if all 10 accept? What if 5 accept? What do you tell players and their parents when they join the program? This could be one and done? Yes, yes, I know there's natural attrition in virtually every program, but Walters' recruiting "strategy" is very confusing to this amateur observer.

I don't have any more idea than you do about how this works, but I looked at the table for all the other WCC schools and all of them have more offers out than spots open. USF more than others, but I guess that is how you do it.

Yup, that is how you do it. If you had five spots open and only made five offers, what would you do when those recruits chose another school? Of course you have to make more offers than slots! Basically, you have to adjust as offers are accepted and/or slots open up. It's no different than the piles of brochures a typical high school student receives from prospective colleges. How can a college send out 30,000 brochures when they only have 800 spots in their freshmen class? Duh, right?

There is also the, "First one that accepts gets it" deal that many schools put out where three players at the same position might be offered.

This info also comes from the kids, not the school, so many "C" options for schools probably claim that they received an offer, just due to misunderstanding, want, or trying to generate interest from other schools.

There are more than one transfer a year per team, that's 450 last year.

When a unhappy player transfer rs they probably call all the schools that had expressed interest in them? I would anyway.

I would assume we talked with D'end before he chose UCLA, Dior?

Maybe a 3 star says yes,I would make room?

Looks like we have a little time to wait for a response from the talented Dalton Nixon. This 3 shooting & floor fluid 15 yr old is naturally getting offers. Rex & the Dons would be a great fit for Dalton but we'll see how things transpire. Go Dons!

ESPN is relatively current, but they sit glued to computer screens closeted up in NE. I'd take info from guys who actually see some preps, but then, I'm very old school.
