Long Beach State's 2012-13 non conference schedule

This last year's was tough with a top notch team. Ouch again.

is this the "play a lot of guarantee games on the road so you can afford one at home" strategy?

sweeping galen and pauley could do amazing things for Beach's local recruiting.

Why can't the U.S.F. Dons get this type of schedule?

Now, I would like to see University of San francisco Mens Basketball team get this type of schedule one day against UCLA, USC, North Carolina, etc. They have a really nice schedule and yes it is one of the most tough non-conference schedule.

Because USF would not win more than 4 games against that schedule this year.

I have seen one other person on this board express excitement in going to the Nevada game this coming year. Why should USF schedule a Arizona, UCLA, Syracuse, Ohio State road death march if no one would be going to those games?

1) If USF wanted to play in upper New York state in December, I think Sidwell could schedule Syracuse within 2 texts.

2) LBSU's home schedue is: North Carolina, North Alabama, Fresno State, BYU-Hawaii, and TBD. Do you throw the entire non-conference away for one home game vs. UNC?

Well, never said anything about throwing the whole non-conference away for one home game vs UNC. However, it would be nice to have teams from the other school such as team from michigan, indiana, etc. to come and play against the Dons at home. But, that would never happen but somewhere down the road. It would be nice to see though one day.

within the last 15 years or so, USF has played Michigan and Indiana in Oakland.

It is simple to get home games against those top programs - someone has to donate a million or two to "buy" the games. I am unable to do this, but possibly you are.

The times have changed even since Bobby Knight brought Texas Tech into WMG, or since Ohio State visited.

I really like the current schedule but having more D1 school coming to War Memorial Gym would make more basketball fans come and watch the game.

I do agree that it might be nice to punt the two non-D1 games and add a Fresno State type team (as well as the extra UOP game starting next season) to the schedule.

But, a tourney at USF, Montana, and St. John's, as well a neutral vs Stanford, a couple drivable non-conference games, and a decent exempt tournament is not bad.

Great Board Moderation!!! I agree, one has to build it before one can expect it.

Rex is truly moving the schedule (that I know of in confirmed games) in a positive direction.

USF has recently turn the program to a TOP TIER program in a very up and coming league, but to get Tier program willing to come into WMG is a whole another step...

To compare LBSU (under Monson GON model) is unrealistic and not recognizing USF growth.
