You are correct. It became obvious JE was not an extremely good fit for USF. The methods DGM used were unethical. She could have quietly dismissed him over the summer, instead chosing to do it during the season. If the reports involving her manipulation of several players are correct, her behaivor clearly crossed the line.

You are correct, indeed he was a victim. One thing we know is that he was always sincere and truly a gentleman.
